A Question Every Buyer Asks Themselves
If you’ve been asking yourself, “Is now the right time to buy a home?”—you’re not alone. It’s one of the most common questions I’m getting right now.
The truth is there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. It really comes down to your personal situation, not just the market.
Yes, interest rates are higher than they were a few years ago. And yes, there’s more inventory today, which actually gives buyers more options and a little more breathing room. Homes are also taking longer to sell, which can create opportunities to negotiate.
But here’s what matters most—are you financially ready? Do you have stable income, manageable debt, and a plan for the long term? Because real estate has always been a long-term investment.
Trying to “time the market” perfectly is very difficult. What we’ve seen over 40 years is that people who buy when they’re ready—and hold—tend to benefit the most over time.
Also remember, you can always refinance your rate later. But you can’t go back and buy at yesterday’s prices if values continue to rise.
So instead of asking, “Is it the perfect market?”—a better question might be, “Is this the right time for me and my family?”
If you’re thinking about buying and want honest, straightforward guidance, I’m always here to help.
